About the Background Timer
This countdown keeps its end time from the device clock, so switching tabs does not reset the duration. The alarm still needs the browser to be allowed to run.
How to use it
- Open Background Timer and check the time or fields at the top before you start.
- Press Start, or the main action button. Space starts and pauses on timer pages. R resets.
- Turn sound on if you need an alarm, then try it once so the browser allows audio.
- Use fullscreen when someone across the room needs to read the screen.
Good to know
The countdown follows your device clock while this tab stays open. If the phone locks or the browser pauses the tab, the alarm can be late. Keep the screen awake for anything short or time-critical.
